They changed their name to O'dell in 1949

I was born Adrian Żółkowski, the son of an English Nurse and a Polish Air Force Officer who escaped from Warsaw at the start of World War II and came to Britain via Romania, Greece, Lebanon, France and North Africa. He joined the fight against the Nazis with the RAF. After the  War he became naturalised British, changed the family name to O'dell and spent the rest of his life in Norwich raising a family and as a small businessman selling glass, china and antiques.

My parents maintained strong cultural links with Poland and Polish traditions and I now offer two presentations which represent that connection...
